Jeff Brown is a senior executive with more than 12 years of C-suite experience, including nine years as a CEO. He has provided senior leadership in three roles having six-figure P&L responsibilities. A professional M&A advisor, Brown leverages strong business and financial acumen, consistently delivering results that exceed Client expectations.

Brown is a Partner and CEO Advisor with SOLIDexecutive, Inc. in its M&A consulting practice. As an investment banker and fractional executive, he currently advises CEOs and BoDs on strategy, revenue growth and M&A. Brown specializes in emerging technology, leveraging new technological developments to transform business performance and gain game-changing competitive advantage.

Since 2007, Brown has served as a VP with a global leader in M&A services for middle-market technology companies. He manages engagements across a broad range of technology sectors, advising on business models, operations performance, valuation and recapitalization. This veteran energy sector executive has a 24-year track record of creating significant enterprise value in growth-stage companies. Known for building businesses that win in the marketplace, he excels at commercializing intellectual property and marketing to sophisticated, multi-national companies.

As a practice leader, Brown has overseen business transformation consulting engagements for more than 30 enterprise organizations, advising Fortune 1000 clients in process improvement and technology deployment. In fractional executive roles, he has served as a managing director of a North American consulting firm specializing in business and technology transformation. As a strategy advisor for a leading provider of field services for renewable energy, Brown assisted the CEO in selling a privately held company to a complex European organization. While serving as VP of an outsourced financial services firm, he helped transform it from Fortune 500 spin-off to a fully self-sustaining, stand-alone company. As SVP of a leading provider of enterprise resource planning software to the energy industry, he led the development of a three-year plan designed to triple revenues through organic growth and acquisitions. Brown re-engineered the go-to-market strategy and implementation while heading up operational responsibility for sales and marketing.

Prior to joining Corum, from 1996 to 2006 Brown was CEO of Worksuite, a subsidiary of a $4 billion, FTSE 100 environmental services company marketing enterprise software. Under his leadership, the company improved its win ratio more than 70 percent against its primary competitor. Brown successfully positioned Worksuite for its own divestiture in 2006. Before that, in 1993 Brown co-founded a consultancy engaged in the custom design/build of spatial intelligence solutions for Fortune 1000 energy companies. Contributing strategy, sales and technology licensing expertise to the start-up management team, he delivered all the operating capital through sales over three years.

Brown was recruited in 1992 to be a VP/GM for a $125 million petroleum engineering consultancy. He launched the UK subsidiary’s Western Hemisphere operations and commercialized industry-funded technology. Brown established reseller and partner alliances on three continents and supervised a comprehensive petroleum reserves benchmark that delivered critical product validation.

From 1984 to 1992, as marketing manager for a VC start-up that developed decision support technology for upstream petroleum companies worldwide, Brown led a multi-disciplinary team that was instrumental in establishing market leadership. He began his career in 1978 as Senior Research Staff Scientist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.

Brown is a leading speaker, educator and blogger on technology M&A matters. He chairs the New Venture Clinic and serves on the Chapter Executive Committee of the non-profit MIT Enterprise Forum of Texas. Brown holds a B.S. in Geology from the State University of New York.
