Shawn Heaney has a 14-year track record as an executive and 18 years of experience as a management consultant. During his career, he has engaged in dozens of buy- and sell-side transactions totaling more than $2 billion. Currently, his consulting focuses primarily on middle-market M&A.
Heaney is a Partner with SOLIDexecutive, Inc. and a Partner with Executive Engagement Solutions. His work for SOLID produces strategic business solutions for the entire range of small, mid-size and large corporations. Heaney also is hired for business development, marketing, sales and strategic planning consulting initiatives. He regularly advises on M&A exit planning, strategy and due diligence.
Passionate about helping middle-market companies in M&A transactions, Heaney’s services include capital fundraising, recapitalizations, strategy development, tactical marketing and business development, M&A advisory and near-term exit planning and strategy prior to an M&A.
Heaney has participated in the IPOs of Frontier Financial, Ocurest, Pure Atria Software, Rational Software and the merger between Rational Software and IBM, among others. He has industry-specific expertise in telecommunications, transportation, Internet, telecom/broadband, technology, printing/lithography, moving and storage and supply chain management.
From 2006 to 2008, Heaney was CEO of White Transportation Group, an agent of HomeDirectUSA (a Penske Logistics company). With full P&L responsibility and oversight of 260 employees, he was a catalyst for growth. Heaney was instrumental in developing White’s supply chain management procedures for the entire Rocky Mountain region.
Heaney was VP of Channel Sales for Concert Technologies and Senior Director of Telco Sales for NCR and DecisionOne from 2001 to 2005. He had P&L responsibilities and consistently exceeded his division’s quota. Heaney was directly responsible for managed services, DATA CPE services and the exploration and acquisition of new accounts.
Previously, from 1994 to 2001, Heaney held the role of Senior M&A Specialist for the RAF Group (a division of PaineWebber). While there, he was intimately involved in the go-to-market strategy of its IPO process, ROI analysis and client and institutional development. Heaney provided strategic support for national and emerging growth companies in the areas of M&A, corporate finance, harvesting intellectual capital and formulating growth strategies.
During Operation Desert Storm in 1991, Heaney served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army in charge of finance and personnel. He led an organization of 226 enlisted soldiers in direct support of combat and finance operations. Upon his return, Heaney took over field operations for Bekins Van Lines in New England. There, he held P&L responsibility for $125 million in revenue and growth. His prior career experience includes roles at Avnet, Unisys, NCR and Charles Schwab.
Among his credentials, Heaney is a Senior Business Analyst, a Chartered Mergers and Acquisitions Professional and a principal with the NYSE and NASDAQ who previously held Series 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 24, 63 and 67 securities licenses.
